The main organisers of the anniversary in the Turku region are the City of Turku and the Turku and Kaarina Parishes. Additional participants involved in the organization of the project include a large number of diverse societies and groups. A shared project coordinator takes care of the overall project organisation and communications between the various participants, work groups, and cooperating partners.

The themes of the anniversary are brought to view through events and projects aimed at different aged audiences. Planned for the occasion are, for example, musical compositions and concerts, art exhibitions, plays and puppet shows, children’s activities, school project weeks, literature and research, lectures and discussions, seminars and international conferences, activities for students and young adults, various Christian events and themed services, medieval atmosphere and flavours, guided tours, theses, themed trips, mobile applications …
